Prioritize for your Time Management

Integrating new and better habits can be very difficult because we are all much too busy. Time seems to be racing and there is always so much to do – so much still unfinished. No time really to concentrate on what we want or need to change.

The only way we can get on top of that is by prioritizing. Some things are more important than others. Some are more urgent than others. Doing the “balancing act” in your everyday life requires careful and thoughtful planning of how to spend your time and energy if you don’t want to burn yourself out.

Let’s look at what priorities are:

1. Our priorities are based on what we value (achievement, integrity, intimacy, personal satisfaction, independence, etc.) and what our goals are (establishing/maintaining a career, raising a family, finding/maintaining a committed relationship or friendship, etc.)

2. Because each of us is a unique individual with our own values and goals, it is normal that our priorities will be somewhat different from those of other people around us. And they may conflict with the priorities of those close to us. For that reason it is very important to understand what our own priorities are before we decide to adjust them to those around us.

3. As our life changes, so do our priorities. The important thing is to stay aware what our priorities are at all times because it is so easy to get lost in “busy work” instead of spending our days doing what really needs to get done. You are the one who decides when and why activity X is more important than activity Z.

Always remember, you are the ultimate decision-maker in your life. Even when you compromise, you make a decision – the decision to compromise.

To be or not to be – the Choice is truly Yours!

How to save precious Time

There seems never enough time…

There seems never enough time to get everything done.

But in order to really live our dreams we need to take the action steps that are necessary to get us there.

So for today a very simple tips you can use right now to get 2 hours worth of work done in 30 minutes.

This is going to sound really simple, but give it a try and see what happens.

Here is the trick:  Set a deadline

Sounds too easy?

Most things in life are easy but we complicate them. Just remember the day before you go on vacation. Isn’t it true that you get triple done on that last day?

Tell yourself you only have 30 minutes to get your task done. Once you do, your brain takes over and finds a way to compress the time it used to take and get the job done.

Whenever my work gets too much for me I use this technique … and it really works.

Psychologists call this the “time compression phenomenon.”  No one knows why it works, but it does. Give it a try and do it today! There is no better time than the present.
