Day 18 - Time To Realize The World Doesn't Resolve Around You - Master Coach Barbara Hofmeister

Much of what’s going on in today’s world makes us focus on ourselves. We’re supposed to look out for our best interest, compete with others and do whatever we can to be better and have more than our neighbour. We’re constantly surrounded by advertisements and media messages that encourage us to be self-centered and ego-centrical but in the depth of our hearts we want to contribute, we want to share and be part of a bigger picture – and we are.

When we start to live with purpose, the people around us become more important. Instead of focusing on just us, we focus on our family, our community, and even the world at large. That’s quite a big change in perspective and something that will come over time. The amazing thing is that it starts happening effortlessly.

You start by living more purposefully and end up focusing more on the needs of the people concerned. Maybe it starts with simply paying more attention to your spouse and kids. From there it moves toward your extended family and your circle of friends. Along the way you notice that working with others, helping them out, and doing things for them feels good and brings you a lot of joy and happiness.

Living a purpose driven life, that includes other people who are important to you, is an amazing feeling.

From there it spirals out. Here is a practical example. As you create more intentional relationships with your children, you get closer to their friends too. You become more empathetic to the needs of other parents and their children. Your focus starts to shift from yourself and your own little world to your local community and eventually the global community we all live in. And that’s a very good thing.

No matter how much it has been drilled into us and how much we might believe it, we don’t live in a bubble. We live in a community and in this day and age that community reaches across the entire globe. In this first “Clarify Your Purpose” challenge are only about 50 participants but you come from 14 different countries and that is really wonderful. We are a global community <3.

Our actions, our decisions, how we choose to live our lives – all have an impact on everyone else.  We can no longer afford to live a self-centered life. Trust me, being part of a community and working together for the improvement of everyone is a much, much better feeling.

This is yet another advantage of living your life with purpose. You get to see the world from a different, a more global perspective. Not only that, but you are setting a good example for your children and other people around you. As they see you care about others, they will be inspired to do the same. If you ask me, that’s pretty powerful stuff.

Your own choice to live with purpose can end up affecting hundreds, thousands, and some of us will affect millions!

You living your life with a clear purpose, you daring to take action to live into your full potential, you daring to BE YOU is very powerful. You living into your purpose will make you a role model for future generations.

We need people like you!

The world needs people like you!

What do you choose to do with the rest of your life???

Let me finish today with a wonderful quote by Marianne Willamson from her book “Return to love”. Read this poem at least 3 times. Read each sentence until you fully get it, then read the whole again. For me, this is THE TRUTH!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine as children do.

It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

How does that feel? What if it is true? What would that mean for you? What could you do differently to let your light shine? Do you want to let your light shine? If yes, how?

A lot of questions and only you have the answers. it would be great if you shared some insights with us in our facebook group. We are on the home stretch now. The next 3 days you will receive some powerful gifts but only if you actively participate.  Otherwise, like in most things in life, this will just pass you by 🙂
