The Importance of Your Self-Worth - Master Coach Barbara Hofmeister

Have you ever watched Rick Warren speaking at TED about his bestseller “The Purpose Driven Life”

He was sharing great insights about purposeful living, but one things especially stuck with me.

I don’t know if you ever noticed the fierce competition we seem to have on acquiring more valuables.

People think that having more increases their net-worth.

But have they, or you for that matter, ever thought about increasing your self-worth?!

In his speech Rick Warren said, “Your value is not based on your valuables”

What a simple, yet profound, thought that’s worth pondering upon!

I believe a high self-worth can lead to an equally high and meaningful net-worth if that is what you desire. However building your self-worth starts by discovering your unique purpose in life and knowing what it is that you are here to be.

You’re here for a reason.

There is a problem out there that is waiting for you to solve it. Someone is waiting for you to help.

Let me say it with one of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein, “Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value”

How can you increase your value?

  1. Reflect on these two key questions: “What is my true purpose?” And “What legacy do I want to leave?”
  2. Your value is based on your service. So, Serve and grow your value!
  3. The better the solution your provide, the more valuable you become.

If you feel you need some guidance to clarify your direction, you might want to check my book “To be or not to be – the choice is YOURS!” It will help your clarify what your purpose it and how you can  build up your self-worth to the extend that anything is possible.

Make the right choice. You are worth it.
