Are you an ideas person? - Master Coach Barbara Hofmeister

If you are then you are blessed with one good idea after another. The challenge comes with capturing those
ideas and putting themsomewhere safe so you can look them up when you need them.

Most people use either of the following three approaches:

  1. We have a brilliant idea, get excited and are sure we will never forget it. When the time comes that it could be useful, we remember, we had an idea but can’t remember what it was. Obviously this approach does not work at all!
  2. We have an idea, we write it down on whatever piece of paper we can find, might even make a note how we can use it and then go back to what we were doing before we had the idea. Soon it get’s lost amongst all the other things that are going on.
  3. We have an idea. We stop what we were doing and start working on this new idea immediately but we only stay with it until we have the next great idea.

Obviously neither of these 3 approaches work!

But ideas are important to our success in many areas of life, especially when we are facing challenges. Therefore it is critical to have a journal in which we can capture our ideas.

No matter whether the ideas are in the direction of our passion or in the direction of our challenges, we need to write it down in ONE place, where we will find it again.

I have a small notebook that I keep in my handbag especially for my ideas. I also keep a notepad next to my bed because ideas come at the most unusual times. But whatever I write down at night, get’s put into my little journal in the morning and while doing that I frequently have even better ideas how to use this.

Just keep your ideas flowing!
